Godzilla's Kaiju Alpha Root Beer
Kaiju Alpha · Novelty craft
Boca Raton, Florida, USA
A licensed Godzilla-branded root beer from Kaiju Alpha, built on the familiar American template: a sassafras-and-root backbone rounded out with vanilla and a soft creamy sweetness, with a touch of warm baking spice on the finish. It reads as a crowd-friendly, nostalgia-forward pour rather than a bark-bitter or aggressively dry craft expression, sitting comfortably in the mainstream-creamy lane of the category. A collectible novelty soda first and a connoisseur sipper second, but a clean, recognizable take on the classic profile.

The maker
Godzilla's Kaiju Alpha is an officially licensed root beer sold under the Godzilla Foods brand, a partnership between Japan's Toho Co. (the studio behind Godzilla) and Jade City Foods, a Florida-based pop-culture food and beverage company founded in 2021 by Cliff Wiener and Alex Kenny. Jade City specializes in licensed novelty foods tied to entertainment properties, and the Godzilla Foods line launched around Godzilla Day (November 3) in 2021. The 12 fl oz canned soda is a contract-produced collectible-style product rather than a traditional regional bottler's recipe.
