Maine Root Beverages was founded in Portland, Maine, where founder Matt Seiler set out to make a clean root beer free of artificial ingredients while working at the Flatbread Company; the company is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. Its entire line is handcrafted, caffeine-free, and sweetened with Fair Trade Certified organic cane sugar rather than corn syrup. The Ginger Brew is a notably spicy, ginger-forward soda in that organic lineup.
