Ginger beer
Americana Ginger Beer
Americana Beverages (Orca Beverage Soda Co.) · honey ginger beer
Mukilteo, Washington, USA
A soda-fountain take on ginger beer that splits the difference between an ale and a true beer: cane sugar and honey lay down a rounded, faintly floral sweetness, then ginger climbs in with a genuine warming bite that catches at the back of the throat. The honey keeps the heat sociable rather than aggressive, and a touch of citric acid trims the finish so it reads crisp instead of cloying. It mixes capably into a Moscow mule but holds its own poured straight over ice — a friendly, well-built crowd-pleaser more than a heat-chaser's trophy.

The maker
Americana is one of the heritage soda labels produced by Orca Beverage Soda Company, a craft bottler that has operated a 1950s-style plant in Mukilteo, Washington for over three decades, reviving and producing vintage American soda brands. Its Americana line is bottled in long-neck glass and made with pure cane sugar, organic honey, and other traditional ingredients rather than corn syrup. The honey-lime ginger style is positioned as both a sipping soda and a cocktail mixer.
