Dr. Brown's Original Cream Soda
Dr. Brown's (Honickman / Canada Dry Bottling Company of New York) · Classic vanilla cream soda
Pennsauken, New Jersey, USA (brand originated in New York City)
A classic New York deli-counter cream soda built around clean, vanilla-forward sweetness rather than over-the-top richness. Reviewers consistently call it lighter and smoother than most cream sodas, with a velvety, not-heavy mouthfeel and gentle carbonation that keeps the vanilla front and center. It is a well-balanced, nostalgia-driven crowd-pleaser more than a craft showpiece, but within the mass-market lane it is honest and well-made.

The maker
Dr. Brown's is one of America's oldest soda brands, tracing its roots to the late 1860s in New York City, where it became a fixture of Jewish delicatessens and was long tied to classic deli fare. The brand consolidated into the American Beverage Corporation in 1929 and was acquired by Canada Dry Bottling Company of New York in 1982; it remains under the Honickman family of beverage companies. Its cream soda and Cel-Ray are its best-known flavors and still carry strong deli-counter nostalgia.
