The maker
A&W began in 1919 as a California roadside root beer stand and is now one of America's most recognizable soda brands, owned and produced by beverage giant Keurig Dr Pepper. The company added a cream soda to the A&W lineup in 1986, and it has since grown into the best-selling cream soda in the United States. Like the flagship root beer, the cream soda is built around a vanilla-forward identity, long marketed with the line "a little sparkle in a vanilla world."
